Samsung’s Accidental Damage Handling (ADH) Warranty: All you need to know

How many of you have cracked the screen on your  Samsung phone only to find out that the cost to replace it is more than half of the value to replace the phone?


In this article we cover what you need to know about  Samsung’s Accidental Damage Handling (ADH) Plan and we find out which phones are covered under the ADH.

Have you ever dropped your phone only to realize that your screen broke in the fall? Many would cringe at this feeling when re realize that an actual screen repair is practically nearly half the cost of a new phone.

The Guys at Samsung had thought about this and launched a program called Samsung’s Accidental Damage Handling (ADH) Plan. Under this plan your phone is covered for 2 screen damages or 2 water damages. The plan mostly comes with the upper end premium samsung products and phones such as the Samsung S5 Mini and S4 mini which you would expect to have this, sadly does not.

The ADH Plan has been revised many a time by Samsung only now to offer three different plans that are phone specific. 

The plans currently offered are the

  • ADH Premium
  • ADH
  • ADH CORE
Each plan comes with its own set of benefits but are phone specific.Please note in order to qualify for either of the plans mentioned your mobile device must be registered with Samsung apon activating your phone else you will not qualify for the benefits of the plan.

The Plan details are as follows:

1. ADH Premium
Mobile phones Covered:


    • Samsung GALAXY Note 3
    • Samsung GALAXY Note 3 LTE
    • Samsung Galaxy S5
Warranty Service:
ADH is incorporated into the existing Samsung 24-month standard factory warranty on the selected Devices. The offering will protect your device from accidental damage during normal use. It will cover screen repairs and liquid damage repairs to your device that is damaged within the Samsung 24 month warranty period.
Offering :
The ADH Premium Service Offering includes the following benefits:
Samsung Smart Swap is a world first from a Device manufacturer point of view. This Service Offering provides the Device owner with the benefit of receiving a Premium Loan Device of the same model, to minimise inconvenience while their own Device is being repaired.
Samsung Smart Pick-Up is available to Premium Device owners enjoying the innovative benefit of Samsung ADH Premium.
  • This improvement to ADH provides the Premium Device owner with the benefit of having
  •  the damaged Device collected, and the subsequent delivery of the Premium Loan Device in the event of an ADH incident.
  • 24-hour delivery in all major centres in South Africa only.
Samsung Smart Value provides the Premium Device owner with the benefit of a ‘Guaranteed Future Buyback’ (GFB) for their Device:
  • 25% buyback = 0 to 12 months.
  • This GFB is calculated against the Recommended Retail Price (RRP) at the date of Device purchase.
  • ADH Benefit post Smart Value.
  • Once an existing Premium Device has been ’Smart Valued’ and ‘Traded In’ for a new Samsung Premium Device before or during the 12th month, the balance of the ADH Benefit is transferred to the new ADH Premium Term of 24 months.
Samsung Screen Damage Each Device is allowed 2 incidents per 24-month period:
  • 1 Screen repair and 1 liquid damage repair OR
  • 2 Screen repairs OR
  • 2 Liquid damage repairs
  • Should both a liquid damage and screen damage incident occur as your first incident and at the same time, this will constitute both the first and the second incident within the 24-month warranty period and your ADH cover will cease.
  • If the second incident is both a screen damage and a liquid damage at the same time, then the ADH repair will cover the ‘greater of’ damage, be it liquid damage or screen damage, and the ‘lesser of’ damage will be for the account of the Samsung Device owner.

Warranty Service:

Samsung Screen Damage
  • 1 screen repair within a 24-month period.
  • No incident fee.
  • Take Device to your nearest Service Centre.
Warranty period: 24 months




Please note: No other phones are covered by the ADH plan so it means that 
if you drop it. 
you will have to pay for the repairs out of your own.

  1. not much of a warranty because cell shop dont advice of ADH warranty

  2. thats true! they dont inform you about it when you are in store and whats worse is that the people buying second hand cellphones that are barely a year old arent aware that it doesnt have this warranty. I know people who bought phones with cracked screens thinking that they could be fixed under this warranty and were very surprised when they were told its not covered
